For all of us left on this earth,

Dad (Bill), Mom (Nancy), Step Dad (Allen), Step Mom (Judy) Sister (Tori), Partner (Tanya), Children (Bodhi and Sophia), Grandparents, Aunts/Uncles/Cousins, Friends and Colleagues it's hard to believe that the person who gave all his heart and soul away to all of us is gone too young too soon. We all wish he could have stayed with us longer – but people like him rarely do.

Tagan was a unique and special name that captured his precious and rare soul. Anyone within minutes of meeting him knew he was special.  It was obvious that his intellect was different than most – with greater depth and expansiveness always focused on others.  He was quirky, silly, and experienced the world with childlike wonder.

He could make anyone feel welcome and could share his passion and incredible expertise in science in a way that could excite anyone from experts in the field to his young children.   He radiated charisma and was kind, funny, smart, loving and generous.  He had the gift of making anyone he met feel important. He never had to be the center of attention, yet his personality was contagious and everyone, it seemed, wanted to be part of his universe.  He warmly invited and welcomed them with an open heart.

From a young age he took the time to comfort those around him. Whether it be reading his sister books under the covers at night or caring for his menagerie of animals, he was always thinking of others.  Recently he flew to Florida to pick up Bodhi and drove to Montgomery to give the incredible gift of sharing his love and his son with his great-grandmother (of course on the way, he stopped to share and explore a living cave he loved with Bodhi).

Tagan we are much better people because you were part of our lives. Your love made this world a better place. We will miss your wonderful red hair, your antics, your intelligence, and your capacity for caring.  Thank you for sharing your journey with us even if it was only for a short while.  We love you.
